“I’d already had the privilege of dining at Tomei’s restaurant in Lucca, but hearing him explain the philosophy behind each dish was like reliving that dinner through new eyes. It made me realise how each of his creations is a dialogue with the territory and the people.”
P.M. – Event participant
As part of the initiatives promoted by Gruppo Forti in collaboration with Amazon, Main Kitchen in Montacchiello hosted an event featuring Michelin-starred chef Cristiano Tomei, owner of the restaurant “L’Imbuto” in Sant’Alessio (LU).
Recognised as one of the most distinctive voices on the contemporary Italian culinary scene, Tomei guided the audience through an engaging journey dedicated to conscious and sustainable cuisine, switching between personal reflections with stories about the origins and evolution of food as a driver of social and cultural exchange. Thanks to his thirty years of experience, he emphasised the importance of balancing tradition and innovation as a key to interpreting modern gastronomy.
The evening ended with a showcooking session and the tasting of his signature dish — olive oil and Parmesan cheese stuffed ravioli — preceded by an in-depth explanation of its meaning and followed by a convivial moment of networking among participants.
